Teaching and developing foundation courses in 2D and 3D design and beginning drawing, specific focus on incorporating digital tools into foundation courses and using computer generated media as tools in the creation of fine art; additional focus on contemporary aesthetic, ethical issues and individual artistic development; digital video editing and production emphasis on shot composition, lighting, editing techniques, film theory, and non-linear editing software. Responsible for developing the digital art/imaging department, purchasing and maintenance of hardware and software for a 46 student workstations; 6 faculty stations, Design and construction of the departments shooting studio/stage.

Teaching and developing foundation courses, specifically Design and Composition and 3-D design–exploration and experimentation with the visual elements, principles of design, materials, and concepts of two and three dimensional design in the visual arts. Teaching beginning to intermediate levels of painting and life drawing. Teaching and developing, computer art and digital imaging courses, as vehicles for the creation of fine art; Graphic design and web site production, with an emphasis on visual communication, critical thinking, interaction design and an inclusive production process.

Teaching 3-D design, Beginning Ceramics and Pre Columbian art history–a survey of Mesoamerican and Andean ancient cultures.

Working with full-time faculty to refit sculpture department and yard. Fulfilling the duties of sculpture tech, maintenance of welding and woodworking equipment.

Teaching Macintosh Basics for Artists and Designers enable visual artists to utilize the Macintosh computer and applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as vehicles for creative design and visual communication. Grant writing to rebuilding computer lab, awarded $600 grant towards printing source for the lab.

Working with other faculty installing, maintaining and operating the department art gallery. Assisting in a beginning drawing course.

Teaching wheel-thrown and hand-building ceramic techniques. Teaching, Plastic Media; an experimental course that used a variety of projects where students were encouraged to use any material that could be explained as “plastic” or malleable including video, and computer programming.
